If you have been playing alot with the stock drum pedal kick with your copy of Rock Band, you may have noticed that the plastic kick, included with the original Rock Band game, or the partial metal kick pedal that was included with Rock Band 2 may be worn or on the verge of cracking or breaking.

A broken foot pedal makes the game pretty much useless as you won't be able to have someone play the drums, which are required for alot of the online 'battle of the bands' situations. There are several, and I mean several, aftermarket vendors making and distributing new and improved kick pedals for Rock Band. I would look for ones that offer an all-metal construction, as these are proven to last alot longer than the stock plastic or metal kick-plate drum pedals.

These drum pedals will make a huge difference to your game play. The responsiveness is much increased over the stock Rock Band drum pedal that comes with your game. These are generally around the $30 mark, but if you are willing to buy 10 or more songs of DLC (downloadable content) then you have no reason why you can't upgrade your kick pedal. I find that with the improved drum pedal, I can kick faster, and with a little less strain on my calf, as you would know if you are a drummer playing on the hard or expert settings. I'm only on hard at the moment, but i feel the pain! Make sure you find a drum pedal that is compatible with your console and version of Rock band. I have shown the above two examples, but they are from random consoles. Always read the terms of the sale when you are buying one, and shop and compare so you can get the best deal for your band. Make sure you are buying from a reputable seller, and that it is a METAL drum pedal, as these will last longest. There are several makes of drum pedals that also allow you to split the pedal, this creates the ability to have two drum pedals going at the same time, much needed for hard or expert difficulty settings. Shop, compare, and Rock This Band!
